Own energy — renewable cluster and hydrogen storage
Renewables · Hydrogen · Made in Silesia
POLCERO operates its own renewable energy cluster with hydrogen storage at its manufacturing site in Silesia, Poland. Energy independence reduces robot production and AI training costs, with surplus available to neighboring facilities.
WHY OWN ENERGY MATTERS
Energy independence as a competitive foundation
Control over energy is control over cost, compliance and manufacturing continuity.
Lower production cost
Own renewable generation directly reduces electricity costs for robot manufacturing, electronics assembly and AI model training — without exposure to grid price volatility.
Supply-chain control
Energy self-sufficiency eliminates a key external dependency from our manufacturing supply chain, improving delivery reliability and operational continuity.
EU compliance
Our energy setup supports compliance with EU taxonomy, CSRD reporting, and the Machinery Regulation’s carbon-footprint requirements for industrial products.
Decarbonized manufacturing
Robots and AI systems built at our site carry a lower embodied-carbon footprint — directly traceable to the renewable source powering their production.
CLUSTER COMPONENTS
Solar, wind and hydrogen — on-site
A three-element system: generate, buffer, dispatch. Production never stops waiting for the grid.
Solar PV
Photovoltaic arrays on-site and on adjacent land generate the primary electricity supply for manufacturing and assembly operations.
Wind generation
Wind turbines supplement solar, improving capacity factor and reducing seasonal dependency on a single renewable source.
Hydrogen storage
Surplus renewable electricity is converted to hydrogen via electrolysis and stored on-site, enabling dispatch when generation is low — a long-duration buffer for continuous production.
BENEFITS
Cost, resilience, and local surplus
Lower unit cost
Renewable self-generation directly reduces the per-robot electricity bill — for electronics fab, assembly lines and AI model fine-tuning compute.
Operational resilience
Hydrogen storage provides a local buffer against grid outages and price spikes, keeping production schedules intact regardless of external events.
Surplus for local industry
When generation exceeds our own demand, surplus electricity and hydrogen are available to neighboring facilities — contributing to local industrial decarbonization.
ENERGY FOOTPRINT TAGS
Our energy cluster is a backbone branch of the POLCERO group — it exists to make all other branches cheaper, cleaner and more supply-chain resilient. It is not a standalone energy business; it is infrastructure for manufacturing excellence.
MANUFACTURING SYNERGY
Energy and manufacturing share the same site
Our energy cluster and robot manufacturing facility are co-located in Kietrz, Silesia. This eliminates transmission losses, simplifies grid connection requirements and keeps both infrastructure layers under direct operational control.
